Negombo to Sigiriya via Dambulla
Travel to the Cultural Triangle with comfort stops. Visit Dambulla Cave Temple, then continue to a resort with garden and pool space. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya - Family Rock Climb and Village Life
Sigiriya climb for active families. For children under 6, Pidurangala or a lighter viewpoint is pre-confirmed at booking with photos and difficulty notes. Afternoon catamaran ride, pottery, paddy-field walk and cooking. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya - Morning Safari - Kandy
Early morning Minneriya or Kaudulla safari depending on season and elephant movement. Exit by around 10am and drive to Kandy for an early afternoon arrival. Afternoon lake walk, resort pool or rest. Overnight in Kandy.

Kandy - Family Culture Day
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic with child-friendly explanation, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and an optional Kandyan cultural dance. Overnight in Kandy.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya - Tea Highlands
Waterfall stops, a tea estate visit, a tea plucking experience for children and Gregory Lake family activities. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Scenic Train - Nanu Oya to Ella
Scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella. Evening family-friendly lodge stay and a relaxed dinner. Overnight in Ella.

Ella - Soft Family Adventure
Nine Arch Bridge with a local guide confirming the train crossing time the night before, Little Adam’s Peak, Ravana Falls or a cooking class. Overnight in Ella.

Ella to Udawalawe
Visit the Elephant Transit Home according to a confirmed feeding schedule, then an afternoon Udawalawe safari. Overnight near Udawalawe.

Udawalawe - Kosgoda - Bentota - Galle
Early departure. Confirmed Kosgoda Turtle Conservation Centre stop. Continue to Bentota for lunch and an optional Madu River excursion if timing allows. Arrive in Galle by late afternoon. Overnight in Galle.

Galle to Colombo - Departure
Galle Fort guided walk. Optional Madu River excursion for evening flights only. Airport transfer. Departure.
Practical Notes
Minneriya is best from July to October – Kaudulla or Habarana village cycling are used off-season
Bentota beach can be rough from May to October – river, lagoon, pool and turtle experiences remain suitable
For leopard-focused families, Udawalawe can be replaced with Yala with the added drive time explained in advance
Fitness level: easy, with one moderate day for the Sigiriya climb
